Baliango School of Fisheries

Project Happy Feet is beyond excited to share our first international donation, partnering with the Baliango School of Fisheries in the Philippines! We shipped over 40 pairs of athletic shoes and equipment internationally—specifically for track and field, basketball, baseball, and badminton—to provide for 30-40 of their athletes varying from grades 7-12. Coach Anne, with the Baliango school, first reached out to us in November 2025 through our social media and we were able to learn much about her school's needs. She saw firsthand how her community lacked equipment and fuel for school affiliated athletics, often resorting to makeshift materials made of wood or limited personal funding to train her athletes. Despite their disadvantages and humble background, multiple of their students have reached levels of national competition in the Philippines in track, which is a major accomplishment! The national co-presidents of Project Happy Feet immediately began fundraising by partnering with our Maryland and Wisconsin branch to hold various bake sales in December. While the process of overseas shipping was strenuous, they finally reached the Philippines in April 2026! We hope Baliango’s athletes, under the leadership of the compassionate Coach Anne, can be supported by these donations and that they create new opportunities for their community.
